As you know, our region is under a “stay at home” order. As community-minded real estate agents, we take this order seriously for the safety of everyone. We are currently taking the following steps to protect the safety of our team and community while maintaining business operations:
• Virtual Home Selling
We are happy to FaceTime or video chat for a listing presentation. All our listings include a virtual tour, video, floor plans and customized website for the property which allows potential buyers to see your home inside before even walking through the front door. If your property is vacant, we will set up showings employing appropriate social distancing and sanitizing measures.
• Virtual Home Buying
We are happy to FaceTime or video chat with you to get your list of home buying needs. All our home buyers are set up with a real-time MLS search; you will receive alerts whenever new listings of interest go on the market. We will review these homes with you and research your selected options with other agents. While many buyers are comfortable buying a home without stepping inside, we will work with you if this is not for you. Or, should you want to wait out current events and bide your time, get yourself pre-approved for a mortgage and hone in on exactly what you are looking for in a home. (Let us know if you need referrals to lenders.) We will show you homes once the stay-at-home order is removed. We are here for you.
• Our entire team is working remotely
The Chrissy + Lisa Team already had technology in place to work remotely. Our files are stored in the cloud and we regularly use video conferencing for various meetings. We have plenty experience working with clients for remote home purchases and sales.
• Electronic signings
We already relied on DocuSign to send listing or buyer agreements, contracts, addendums, etc. to our clients for signatures. The settlement company, title company and lenders with whom we work are also set up with for electronic signing.
Our settlement company is now offering an e-notary service so you no longer need to physically be in their offices to close on your property in many instances.
Your real estate investment is solid!
Interest rates and inventory remain at all-time lows. These conditions are likely to keep prices constant. To date, property values remain steady; we are still seeing multiple offers on many properties throughout the DMV region. Our area has a strong history of holding its value and bouncing back quickly after a crisis. We believe this will be the same in 2020 and beyond.
